FINANCIAL ANALYST
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the AVP Financial Controller, the Financial Analyst provides operational and analytical support for the Credit Union's Finance and Accounting functions. The position assumes responsibility for recurring financial reporting, data preparation, model maintenance, documentation, and other operational finance activities, helping create capacity for the Controller to focus on strategic financial management, planning, and organizational initiatives.
This is a developmental role that works closely with and learns from the Controller. Through hands-on experience and progressively broader assignments, the Financial Analyst develops knowledge of credit union financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, asset/liability management, liquidity, investments, profitability analysis, CECL, and regulatory and Board reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
This position is intended to serve as a developmental finance role, providing operational and analytical support to the Financial Controller while building proficiency in credit union financial management, reporting, forecasting, and asset/liability management.
FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
Prepare recurring financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management and Board reporting.
Compile, validate, and analyze financial data; identify trends and variances for review by the Controller.
Assist with financial modeling, profitability analysis, ROI analysis, forecasts, and other financial studies.
Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.
BUDGETING AND FORECASTING
Support the annual budget process and ongoing financial forecasting activities.
Maintain budget and forecast schedules, assumptions, model inputs, and supporting documentation.
Assist with monitoring financial performance against budget and forecast expectations.
ASSET/LIABILITY MANAGEMENT AND LIQUIDITY
Maintain and validate data used in the Credit Union's asset/liability management process.
Assist with rate shock, liquidity, forecasting, pricing, sensitivity, and scenario analysis reporting.
Prepare schedules and reports used to monitor liquidity, interest rate risk, and balance sheet performance.
INVESTMENTS, CECL, AND FINANCIAL OPERATIONS
Support investment portfolio reporting and coordination with external brokers, advisors, and vendors.
Assist with CECL reserve analysis, data validation, and supporting schedules.
Perform recurring operational finance activities, including reconciliations, report maintenance, documentation, and data management.
AUDIT, REGULATORY, AND BOARD SUPPORT
Assist with audit, examination, regulatory, Supervisory Committee, and Board reporting requests.
Prepare schedules, gather documentation, track requests, and maintain organized supporting records.
Help ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and available for review.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality, internal controls, processes, and documentation.
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other departments to obtain information and support departmental objectives.
Develop proficiency in credit union financial management, reporting, forecasting, ALM, investments, and liquidity management under the guidance of the Controller.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
One to three years of experience in finance, accounting, banking, credit unions, public accounting, or a related analytical role is preferred. Entry-level candidates with relevant education, internships, or demonstrated analytical experience may be considered.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize data, perform calculations, identify trends, and prepare clear reports are required. Experience with financial institution reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial modeling is beneficial but not required.
